I teach complete beginners to advanced. I teach mainly
by ear (occasionally need to use notation). My lessons cover note
accuracy, timing, phrasing and breathing. I develop my students to be able
to sing in different 'textures' i.e 'bluesey' 'smooth' 'breathy' and then
to interpret pieces using their individual singing palette. I also teach
guitar and vocals together for singer-songwriters (you're welcome to bring
your own songs)

Proms and has toured Europe singing principal soprano roles.

I have met many people who are under the impression that they can't sing for any number of reasons. If
you can speak, you can sing. I can teach you to sing as beautifully as you like, especially if you are
enthusiastic about learning.
I take a quite different approach from the other teachers I know. The tools I use are very specific and
affect the function of the muscles of the vocal tract at the basic neuro-muscular level. We will be
working on your voice, regardless of your experience, gender, age or genre of music. Sure, as a good
singing teacher, I will address some performance issues, but will be mainly concerned to improve your
vocal function.

No matter how you use your voice now, if you are healthy and are enthusiastic about learning then I can
teach you to sing well. The more you practice, the faster you will improve. My teaching methods
I usually see my pupils twice a week because having lessons regularly helps re-educate the subconscious
way of singing. Unlike other instruments, it is impossible to visually show somebody how to sing. Instead
I will show you how it feels to sing correctly until it becomes second nature. Our bodies start to
memorise the good way to sing instead of reinforcing bad habits.
I record each lesson and email it to you so that you can hear your voice improving under my tuition.
