Subject:  open cords/losing air

Hello All -

I seem to have hit some kind of plateau with a specific problem, and I am
getting really impatient with it! It seems that as soon as I hit my
break, the cords open up, and although it still sounds "passable," it's
not right. My full resonance leaves me, and it feels fuzzy. If I start
a note *above* my break, the cords are closed and the full resonance is
there. If I sing *below* my break, all's well too. If I sing *on* my
break, I can get to the right resonance relatively quickly. But if I
sing *through* my break, the cords come apart and I lose air, and I have
a hard, if not impossible time getting back on my voice. Has anyone
gone through this, or have any suggestions?

Thanks so much,
Karena
