Hi, List.
After waking up from a nightmare where I couldn't tell the difference between a vowel and a semi-vowel, although I knew what they are, I just changed my data processing chip and hope you're ready for what came up!
I remembered once some friends of mine and I were talking about 'Verdi', and one of them, who speaks Italian, said the 'e' might be pronounced as the /e/ in the English diphthong /ei/, or as /E/, as in 'bet', depending on the region of Italy. Therefore, would it be possible that they're really 5 vowels, since the alternative pronunciations for 'e' and 'o' ( can't remember which ) , according to what she said, are regional, not standard Italian?
I may still be sleepy, but I think what I wrote may make some sense.
OOOOOUUUGGGGHHHHHH....good night...ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZz
Bye,
