I'm not completely familiar with the opera yet (although I recently came
across a recording), but whatever your voice-type, you're likely to find
an appropriate aria in the little known opera by Heinrich Marschner
"Hans Heiling". My understanding is that the story has been retold in
various incarnations by the Brothers Grimm. I don't have the liner
notes sitting right here in front of me, but if you're interested, I can
dig them out and give you more information on which fairy tale the opera
would be based on.
I suspect that Karen will have a wonderful list of appropriate songs as
well, that might be a bit more accessible than Hans Heiling would be.
