Hi Susan,
My vision is pretty bad, so even in oratorio, I end up memorizing
everything. I still hold the score - and can use it for cues mostly (it's
easier to see cues and even some words). With some very small/badly printed
scores, I've enlarged them, if I didn't have time to do the memorization
trick. One learns to make do I guess.
