Subject:  Foreign Accent query

Hi there!

I have a query on behalf of a fellow singer. Does the native accent of a
person affect how a singing technique or exercise might work?

Case in point:
I have an Australian accent
Our teacher has an Australian accent
My friend has a scottish accent

Will an exercise that our teacher thinks will help her not help partially
because she has a different accent?

Do we all use our vocal mechanism differently and that is part of what makes
our native accent?

And many thanks to Karen! I find your advice extremely helpful, especially
regarding repertoire. Thanks for sharing your detailled knowledge.

Kind Regards,
Nomi
