Just because one person doesn't like the sound of your voice, doesn't mean YOU are doing anything wrong. This may not get you the solo, because if he doesn't like it, you won't be able to "talk him into it." It is too bad that someone doesn't find your voice aesthetically pleasing, but please don't try to change your "dark, rich" voice for him. Look for a different choir, or other places to sing, but DON'T try to change what God gave you for one measly piano player! :-)
