Thank you everyone for your great and quick suggestions. I've forwarded
them on to my aunt and I'm sure when she gets up in the morning in Italy and
finds all these ideas already in her "In box" she'll be thrilled and
immensely impressed!

If you're willing to stretch your search to choral music sung as a
quartet, there are two Carl Maria von Weber STTB choral pieces, "An eine
Freundin" op 23/6; "Heisse, stille Liebe schwebet" op 23/5 you might adapt
to your needs.

There is an STTB motet by Verdelot, "Gabriel Archangelus apparuit" that
you might look at.

Beethoven's "Un lieto Brindisi" (Cantata Campestre) op 103 might be
another option.

Mozart's comic quartet "Caro mio druck und schluck" K.571a
