The repertoire for my vocal quintet requires the soprano to be able to sing a high E or Eb on several pieces:
Debussy - La Fille aux Cheveux de Lin E Chopin - Nocturne, Op. 9, No. 1 E Chopin - Nocturne, Op. 9, No. 2 E Scriabin - Etude, Op. 2, No. 1 Eb
So far there is only one composition in which the mezzo-soprano part extends to A above the staff, Chopin's Mazurka, Op. 17, No. 4. Even G's are rare.
