Thanks so much. I listened to some sound files (Pavarotti, Kathleen
Battle...) on amazon.com and they do it in 12/8, not that theirs are
necessarily the definitive versions! I think I will go ahead and use the
12/8 too. I do admit I liked the other one better, but it certainly will be
easier to sing with the organ rather than against it, especially when we
won't have any rehearsal.

To my knowledge, the version in 12/8 (as published by G. Schirmer) is the
way Adam wrote it. I believe other versions are "simplifed."
