Some ideas: And you can use creative license. Try not to have so many ballads that it drags & do some peppy duets with "dance" (movement) LOVE theme: This can be any type of love - love of God, Country, family, romantic, friendship. That gives you & the folks lots of leeway.
Weather: Open with something as a group like "Singin' In The Rain" & put in a little movement & then segue in to songs about weather - "Stormy Weather", "Blue Skies", "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" or anything classical you can think
Seasons: "April In Paris"; "Autumn Leaves"; "Summertime" - whatever
or do "The Arias You Know and Love" - then just put in the ones you & the performers love but if this is for a "laid back" audience make sure there are melodies they really will know and love. So that it won't drag, do a "put on" of an aria or make up words - OKAY, I KNOW THE CLASSICAL PEOPLE WILL DIE at this idea but the point is to keep the audience with you.
Mainly, have fun & connect with the audience. They will love you. -Original Message----- From: Margaret Harrison To: VOCALIST <vocalist> Date: Wednesday, January 12, 2000 7:37 PM Subject: Re: Recital theme for a mixed group
