I waited for the Lord/Ich harrete des Herrn from The Hymn of Praise/Lobgesang


I have found this duet in a book of Mendelssohn duets.There is one version
with only the German text, published by Peters ( who else?) and another
version, with German and English text published by Schirmer, Vol.377.
Both editions leave out the choral bits and let the piano play them. Not
too tragic.
By the by, this little volume of duets is perfect for relative beginners
,songs not too difficult, harmony in thirds, and not too wild a range
expected from either voice.You don't have to keep to two female voices
either, unless it's from Oratorio.
