Hello. I am new to this list after searching the web for resources to explain what has been diagnosed as microvascular lesions or capillary ectasias, or hemorrhage in my right vocal chord. I am a professional soprano (full time cantor in a very large Reform Jewish synagogue which means a lot of teaching and little time for voice pampering). According to the speech pathologist this will go away on its own with a week or two of complete vocal rest. I am pretty freaked out about this, never ever having had any vocal problems before and always considering myself to have "chords of steel". Aparantly this condition is very common in female professional vocalists especially the outgoing, gregarious, talkative type (that's me!). I'm looking for others who have gone through this and can give me some anecdotal encouragement. Thanks. Judi Rowland Baltimore, MD
