Hello, Ernie and everybody on Vocalist!
As a response to your reply I'd like to say that I'm quite fond of two
cycles by 20th century German composer Wofgang Fortner:
"Shakespeare-Songs", (10 songs, plus one Motto and one Epilogue) to be sung
in English or German
and
"4 Gesänge nach Worten von Hölderlin" (the title says it all: 4 songs!) in
German
Both cycles can be sung by a baritone or a bass.
I don't know whether you will be able to find the partitions though...
Enjoy the research!
Jan
