Rachel, Last semester I did "Sei i miei sospiri", which is the same melody as "Pieta", but a love poem text. It is in the newer edition of 26 Italian Art Songs and Arias. I believe it's put out by Hal Leonard. It might be worth looking into, if just to have a more authentic accompaniment.
