Check out one of the songs Lee Hoiby composed for Leontyne Price: The
Serpent on a text by Roetke. Humorous, tuneful, virtuostic and a definite
crowd pleaser, especially if you pull out a hanky a la Pavarotti! It
takes an overt personality to pull it off, as well as an accompanist of no
mean ability.
