Hi Jacqueline,

People who say that boys should stop singing through
the break, are teachers who are not competent enough
to do so. I have taught many unbroken male voices, and
we've hopped through the change of tone successfully
without any damage at all.

The one thing the kids sometimes find hard is relating
where their new pitch is. How debilating would it be
to suddenly stop and have to start all over again at
16 plus?

My advice is, if you're not certain what to do, leave
it alone, and try and find a teacher such as a SLS
teacher who could very easily get your student through
this very interesting period.

All best wishes,

Ian, Voice wrecker to the stars
