Laura,

The archives were on line this afternoon. Didn't try the search
engine. If you need it I can search my copy.

>I even took Sudafed for the first time

Sudafed is a decongestant rather than an antihistamine. Decongestants are
more drying than antihistamines, and don't do anything to suppress the
allergy response. They do unclog you if you are congested.

I also use Allegra because I can get it in 12 hr. rather than 24 hr. dose.
Thus, I can take one after my practice session each day which will be
affective until I am asleep. If I get really bad, I take a full 24 hr dose
and skip singing. Obviously as soon as I feel better I drop the
antihistamine altogether.

>the doctors' suggestion [...] to avoid antihistamines

They didn't say to avoid antihistamines, just to avoid singing during the
effective dosage time. At least one MD did advise avoiding decongestants (
unless needed).

If you have additional questions, and can't get the archives (or one of our
MD's to reply), let me know off-list email (preferably at the address
below, not by reply) and I'll mail some stuff off to you.

Thanks,
