When I took my first Classical Lesson 21 years ago I still have the recording
and it is singing and the teachers instuction. Every once in a while I go
back to it, BECAUSE IT BRINGS ME BACK TO THE BASICS OF SINGING AND SOMETIMES
I NEED IT TO CLEAR MY HEAD OF SOME OF THE JUNK THAT IS PUT IN
IT.......Always, If possible record your teachers . Believe me it is the most
valuable thing you can do........Remember, you are not supposed to listen to
yourself when you sing, but to listen to yourself on a recordng helps see if
you are doing what was taught to you. You do not have to like your own voice.
As long as the audience loves it, who cares....MOST PEOPLE HATE THEIR OWN
VOICE WHEN THEY HEAR IT PLAYED BACK.........There are some teachers that are
so caught up with their own teachings, they will not allow you to bring a
recorder..........I have 90 pecent of my lessons still on tape and dated,They
are the most valuable things I have and I still record my teacher.
