There are a few that I wish had said "uh .... do you have something else because I don't think I will help your cause by playing that..." I DID do a workshop awhile back for which the participants were asked to send the music to the pianist several weeks before the workshop began. I sent it in - it was extremely hard (Joseph Marx, "Jugend und Alter,") but the pianist's bio made it sound like he could play anything and I did send it two weeks in advance. Well, the day before I was schedule to sing (day 4 of the workshop), he said, "Oh, what are you singing again? Do I have that?" and when he looked at it, he said, "Do you have something else?" I didn't. It went quite well, but I was a tad annoyed because if I was going to bring something easier, I could have saved myself postage and just brought it that week, since he had no intention of looking at stuff earlier anyway.... grrr...........
