your experience with philip glass reminds me of two experiences of my
own. one was hearing steve reich's 'music for mallet instruments' and the
other was performing stockhausen's 'stimmung'. there is a feeling you get
when listening and, in particular, performing music of this sort. i can
only compare it to 'runner's high'. 'runner's high' (for those of you who
have never made it past 'runner's low') is a feeling of serenity that makes
you feel like you could run forever.
