I never said that, and I am definitely an "affirmationist." :) If you read studies done on this subject, you will see that the subconscious takes your words literally. It does not distinguish as to whether something is the truth. It just carries out whatever you say to it. This is why negative self-talk is lethal, or even jokes and sarcasm. If I say, "Oh, I'm such an idiot!", my subconscious simply accepts that as the truth and goes about making it come to pass. This is why positive affirmations and self-talk are so important. We have a lot of stuff to counteract!
