I took the required 2 semesters of piano class and then took lessons one
summer with the intent of learning how to sight read.
I found it very useful. My left hand is still not real good but I can play a
vocal line, at tempo and without looking at the keyboard. I can also play
cords and simplified bass line, which is helpful when I do not have a
pianist or tape.
