<< lynda,

Ned rorem has written quite a few songs and sets for sopranos with good
high ranges. he almost always sets first rate poetry although, some of it
can be dark.

There was a disc (of the vinyl 33 1/3 variety) back in the 60's with Gianna
d'Angelo, Phyllis Curtain, Charles Bressler, Regina Sarfaty and Donald Graham
singing Songs of Ned Rorem. Two sopranino ones I remember are "Song for a
Girl" (a rather chauvinistic text) and something about a nightingale, I
believe that one was an Elizabethan lyric. Rorem has written some wonderful
songs; there are many which post date that anthology. Does any discography
mavin know if that is available on CD?
