Dear Laura, Thomas and Vocalister:
Eileen Farrell has long been one of my favorites, whether singing ballads or opera. A wonder of an instrument but an even more wonderful technique and proof that an excellent technique can serve any ends desired. In fact a delight because she does what she wants rather than what she can "barely accomplish" which is usually the case with most untrained singers.
BTW, do you know the famous story of Farrell's difficulties with Lennie at an opera rehearsal?
