Maybe, maybe not. In theory any voice type can teach any other one. But my first voice teacher (a woman) classified me as a low bass (even though I could sing high Cs) and had me singing things like Sarastro's arias a third lower than written. She nearly destroyed myt voice completely, and I didn't have a choice of teachers.
