Dear Listers,
I have my first paid gig EVER tonight, with a small close harmony group I sing in. We're doing a 15-min set in Xaviera Hollander's (Happy Hooker turned Impresario) X-mas Cabaret. Extremely exciting, however, I have an awful throatache which crept up on me after some concerts I did last weekend...I have been reduced to a bass but must sing an alto part tonight, with a few solos...
Any last-minute remedies you might know of? This is what I'm doing already: drinking lots of camomile tea with honey, steaming, taking cough drops, sleeping; and I have started doing some very soft resonance and vocalising exercises in the middle and low registers, without applying any pressure but simply trying to see if I can 'loosen things up' down there...
hope someone out there can help me,
best regards
Else Kramer (sorry, no time for an introduction, hopefully next time!)
