I'm with you Isabelle. If I don't get vocally tired after an hour, at the least I get mentally tired (which is just a short step away from vocally tired) so I take frequent breaks and tend not to practice as much on lesson or coaching days, or if I have a big rehearsal in the evening.
The mental practice, on the other hand, is something I could do a lot more of. The back of my brain works on my music a lot, but engaging the front of my brain on that kind of stuff can be sporadic for me. I'll go through periods of great curiosity and spend lots of time in the library, and then I'll go through periods of playing too much solitaire on the computer or whatever...
