Anne,
Please don't be put off of Vocalist. I've been a part of it for four years and have come to know Dean as a knowlegeable pro and a wonderful person - who happens to have a pretty darn wacky sense of humor sometimes! (I do too, and it gets me into the soup on a regular basis).

I laughed about the sling, too!

Anne, I think you misunderstood Dean. I didn't read even a hint of ridicule and Dean isn't the kind of fellow to subject others to ridicule. I rather liked the tongue in the sling thing and got a chuckle from it. There was some initial confusion because he was referring to the "letter" i /aI/ and you and others were referring to the "vowel" /i/.

Thank you, Lynda. I was starting to feel like a fool. I don't find it amusing to be ridiculed in front of everyone by some "wiseguy" who might have a few"professional" students. I'll shut up and go back to lurking, where I apparently belong in spite of 25 years experience and very well-produced "eeeeeees." Anne C.
