I just had an Instant Message friend come up for Thanksgiving (we'd
corresponded online just about daily for the past 18 months and met for the
first time this weekend!) and she had the exact opposite thing happen - she
accepted a gig, thinking she'd be the soprano, only to find out afterwards
that she is singing the ALTO. Coincidentally, she's singing it this weekend
also. (We've joked about switching sides of the hyphen.) But she says she
has trouble with "I know that my redeemer liveth" but none with "Rejoice
Greatly." I ran thru "Rejoice" yesterday - which I'm not contracted to sing
- and I think I'd have a better time singing that ... it just sits more
consistently on the soprano end. By the same token, I'm having no problem
with the recits!!
