Subject:  Personal attacks, was Subtle Style

Though we might disagree from time to time, vehemently, passionately,
angrily, can we not refrain from personal attacks?

Some will be saddened (others, like me - furious) to know that it was just
this kind of unnecessary unpleasantness that led Les Taylor, a founding
member of Vocalist, to unsubscribe.

If we are impatient with or turned off by what you consider poor writing
style, presumed pedagogical or technical misunderstandings, dissemination of
half-truths or just plain pompous and contentious self-righteousness: delete
their posts, or add them to your Junk or Block Sender's list so you don't
even have to feel your gorge rise as the site of their name on the "FROM"
line. But please don't pollute this valuable list with vitriol. It serves
nothing except to get yourself put on someone else's Junk Sender's List.

Thank you,
