I haven't heard him lately, but as a one-time huge Bowie fan, I still must
admit that I never considered him a particularly good vocalist. A
wonderful performer, yes, and a wonderful songwriter, but not much of a
singer. When it comes to vocal ability in the same stylistic vein, I
always thought Brian Ferry (of Roxy Music) and David Sylvian (of Japan,
and now solo) were both superior singers.
