Welcome back, Isabelle! We've missed your posts. Actually, it's very
possible
for a non-Italian to sing in Italy, but it helps immensely if you can handle

the really BIG Verdi roles and the like--not very likely for many young
singers. It also helps to have lots of local connections who can put in a
good word and/or pull strings for you.
