Subject:  Re: Error in Theophilus thistle

Now that you all who liked this one have mastered it, I have bad news. My
daughter read my email and said, But, Dad, it's not 'into,' it's 'through.' Oh
darn, I thought. She's right.

So the line "thrust three thousand thistles into the thick of his thumb."
should read-
"thrust three thousand thistles through the thick of his thumb."

Likewise with the the other 'into' words should be changed to "through'

SO, HERE IT IS CORRECTED BY MEGHAN

"Theophilus thistle, the successful thistle sifter, while sifting a sieve full
of unsifted thistles, thrust three thousand thistles through the thick of his
thumb.
Now, if Theophilus thistle, the successful thistle sifter, while sifting a sieve
full of unsifted thistles, thrust three thousand thistles through the thick of
his thumb, see that thou, while sifting a sieve full of unsifted thistles thrust
not three thousand thistles through the thick of thy thumb. Success to the
successful thistle sifter."

(Ouch, it's twice as hard!)

There are no errors in the Parable. But for those who would ask, "Who thinks up
these things?" the Parable of the Frodical Son is the creation of Sir John
Hensch of London.

Success to the successful thistle sifter.
