caio,
i don't seperate people into different catagories of intelligence, i seperate the use of intelligence seperately. verbal thinking in sports is a disaster. by the time the correct conclusion is drawn, the ball is long gone. physical thinking in literature is equally stupid. aural intelligence (perfect pitch, for example) is non-verbal and non-visual and applying it to painting would be foolish. my grand-aunt was a wonderful classical singer, a very fine painter and writer beautiful letters. she used her intelligence in several different ways.
the point i was making is that singing can be governed in several different ways and probably is all at once. i was making a point about the differences in singing when it is governed physically as opposed to verbally. this would be seperate from the level of keeping the ship on track while the captain sleeps. in other words, i'm speaking of how choices are made, not the day to day running of the damn thing.
old teacher about to retire overhearing previous conversation, adds: well, if your son would just get his physical intelligence off the couch in front of the t.v. and hit the books, he might be verbally intelligent as well.
