Dear Bob,
Oh, I really feel for you! Did the same thing, in
a much smaller way, when I went with my father to some
convention, was introduced as the big opera star from
Germany who had just sung Sieglinde, Senta, etc., and
then tried (!) to sing the National Anthem with an
accordean. I couldn't begin to hear what key we were
in....!!! What a horrible, wierd feeling! I've never
forgotten it. And I, too, had sung the Anthem a
million times before, without problems. Funny how
something unaccustomed can REALY throw you!
I hope you get a chance to try again!
