Hi all,
I am a longtime lurker on this list, and I was
wondering if anyone had a recommendation for an
audition piece for me.
It is for something that they are calling an
'opera/theatre work' with George I. Shirley. They are
looking for something that is musically "very
technical." A classical piece in English is ideal.
While I'd like it to be fairly complex, I'm not
looking for something "crazy" because it is after all
an audition.
I am a female, mid 20's developing mezzo(maybe?). They
are looking especially for alto ensemble - which is
comfortable for me. I used to study classically in
college, but I've been doing musical theater for the
past few years exclusively. I sing most typically in
what's been called a 'bright head mix'.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in
advance!
