Mike and Fellow Vocalisters

I am not in a contest with your opinions about opera. The ideas I have
stated are not mine but those of the most respected minds in the analysis
the opera genre. It is very easy to select examples that support your
claims, what ever they are, but I am only attempting to put in perspective
the basic concepts that have given rise to the development of the operatic
form and its basic elements.

I respect your opinions but I must put them in perspective with the opinions
of the many critic who have gone on before us.

Please accept my ideas as I do your yours. I will no longer discuss this
issue on this site.
