I am a great fan of Schiotz too. There also exists a Pearl CD with Aksel
Schiotz. I ' m assuming that the the danish, Danacord Recordsings that Lloyd
Hanson mentioned are superior, but the Pearl recordings may be more accessible
to many of us. According to the notes on the Pearl CD, Schiotz. had been a
schoolteacher before becoming a singer. The notes also mentions that Gerald
Moore thought that Askel Schiotz was one "the few modest tenors" that he had
ever met..."He was quiet, he was modest and this is a miracle in a tenor." Love
that quote. I remembered it because I thought it may come in handy someday. ;-)
