| Playing devil's advocate for a moment, is there any merit in suggesting the score from Disney's "The Little Mermaid" - or even the sequel? There are no songs about the Little Mermaid in "Hans Christian Andersen", unfortunately.... But for comic relief, you might look for an accompanied version of "The Keeper of the Eddystone Light" or sing it's space-age counterpart, "The Keeper of the Asteroid Light" I know there are a few sailor ballads that deal with the effect of mermaids on sailors -- not Copland's "The Golden Vanity", but there's another one.....
