beautifully constructed soapbox (no danger of falling).

i think everyone on this list would agree as they are principles that
are totally rational- healthy voice, able to sing in a wide variety of styles
("no thank you, i prefer to cough blood singing one style badly"). the
breakdown comes in the implementation. i have always found you to be well
informed and well spoken (written) when it comes to theory. i am very
curious to know the specifics of your practice. by what means do you
evaluate a voice other than listening? by what criteria do you judge
progress?

it is my guess that you deal mostly (exclusively?) with classical
singers. if listening is your method of evaluation, what would you look for
in a non classical singer's voice as a sign of health (lack thereof being
obvious)?
