True. That might explain 1) my fear of dogs as a child and 2) my dislike for evangelical vegetarians.
BTW, my faithful Indian companion refers to his own race as "Aryan." Maybe the true spirit of Aryanism is represented in that OTHER famous vegetarian, Mahatma Gandhi.
I have a very strong preference for Verdi over Wagner, because most of Verdi's arias work beautifully as *drama*, not just music. Perhaps if I could see a Wagner opera with a bit of action and singers who can *act*, I'd change my mind.
