the problem with recognizing technical superiority seperate from taste
in art forms that basically amount to glorified entertainment, is the 'so
what' factor. someone who can write the 'lord's prayer' on the head of a
pin is a superior engraver however, if mother teresa had sloppy penmanship,
she probably is still ahead of the pin engraver in the line to register with
st. peter, even if you think christopher hitchens is right about her.
