| lynda, ' i have read four of miller's books (one of which, he had the good sense to discontinue). in each of his books, he espouses the value of the appoggio technique at great length. appoggio, as he describes it, involves opposing forces that, if not handled correctly will put undo stress on the larynx. it is the contention of those of us who prefer the reactive approach that interfering in breathing is the slippery slope that leads to such ludicrous over complications.
