I thought it was just me! Can't tell you how often I've had an "extra good day" and luxuriate in the waves of extra-lush sound, knock out tons of wall-shaking high notes with no warning feelings of maybe over-singing, and then getting my period later that night or the next day. I usually have to pay for the self-indulgence by having to be silent or extra-carefull for a few days after. I have a long list of self helps IF I know what's happening (I'm not perfectly regular). Bromelain (a natural enzyme from pineapple stems) helps swelling, as does Anaflazyme, a German medicine I get from my Doctor. Nettle tea or soup and rosemary oil capsules are good MILD diuretics but STRONG diuretics usually cause too much dryness, and then need to be counteracted with something that brings moisture, like Guaifenesin (in many cough preparations). Caffeine helps somewhat. Is it the beginning swelling of and around the cords that causes this extra-good sensation, or maybe the hormones themselves? Does anybody know? Then maybe we should get back to that old subject of how sex affects the voice. Right around the time of THE CRASH I wrote a posting about various medications for dry mouth...I'll see if I can find it and repost it. Have we heard from Dr. Swineborn (sp?) Did he make it to the new list? Thanks to all got us back together! Best wishes, Cyndee
