HI, Ciro 'do Rio', "... eu canto pra Deus proteger-te" :-) ( List, that was
a Caetano Veloso's quotation which I turned into a salutation )

I see what you mean, but that disregards the fact that you can get those
vibrations in the area of the nose, the mask, without risking to have any
unwilling nasality. My current teacher tries to develop that resonance
without that 'crutch', since it would lead you to believe that you
necessarily need some nasality to sing higher notes. He says it must be your
aesthetic choice, not a technical imposition. As he can get mask resonance
without lowering the soft palate, and I've been able to get that ( at times
:-{ ) lately, I have to agree with him.
