Actually *all those differences* are basically two divisions: solo operas and ensemble operas. Many schools already make similar divisions when they have a course of study labeled *performance* or *opera training* or *vocal training* as opposed to a degree plan for *music education.* Some schools offer specialized theory courses, depending on the track, the instrument or major. Why not have various ensembles to choose from, say, ensemble opera, vocal chamber music, etc.?

North Texas is pretty large and goes way back as a prestigious music school. I'll bet they could carry it off.
