Don't sing or speak till you can get a proper consult. Pull strings to get a
consult quickly. (change person) If it were me, with your history, I would
want to make sure the cortisone had done it's job, via proper inspection,
b4 I sang again. Get a real opinion as to why this happened, ie was it just
because of illness or did the illness make existing problems worse. I would
do everything in my power to avoid another procedure on my cords.

I have personal experience about singing on cortisone. I avoid it. A shot of
cortisone and I don't feel sick and the voice comes back, in fact I seem to
be in excellent voice. Actually I discovered the hard way that I was still
sick and the cortisone only made things feel better. Also cortisone is a
steroid, an analogue of adrenaline. The stuff energy is made of. So you
feel really better after a shot. It is a false economy of sorts because you
are really still sick.
