All I have to say to that silly post!! Do not tuck in
your lower abs! Disaster! Disaster! Anyone teaching
that should be struck off!

Luisa Tetrazzini: one of the greatest singers of the
last century would not dream of wearing corsets when
singing, lest in contravene her stringent breathing
regime, which was, free abs at any cost! No pulling in
of any muscle which had no function in singing!

Dame Nellie Melba said much the same, apart from
"the ribs should be kept extended until the attack has
ceased" In other words, once the ribs have done their
duty, leave them alone! That means breathing in and
then using the outgoing breath for singing. No more no
less! If any listers listens to both Divas, they will
find Tetrazinni's singing lovely and exciting, but
lacking when punching out a controlled top note. They
will find Melba's singing beautiful (which is a
different thing to lovely) controlled and never
wayward!

My tuppence ha'penny worth: no more, no less!

Ian. Again, voice wrecker to the stars!!!!!!!1
