Where did you hear about a correlation between glucosamine/chondroitin and shellfish allergy?  In all my reading I've never come across such a conclusion.

Weight CAN have a lot to do with it, but you don't have to be overweight to
develop knee problems. There was a NY Times article not so far back on "Why
the knee has become the new back"--(they mean in terms of injuries, chronic
pain, etc.) I will see if I can find it. BTW, two things that can help reduce
or even eliminate minor joint pains are MSM and glucosamine/chondroitin.
Don't take the latter if you are allergic to shellfish, though!
